Robinhood is a free-trading app that lets investors trade stocks, options, exchange-traded funds and cryptocurrency without paying commissions or fees.
The app recently made the decision to stop allowing the buying of stock of a company named GameStop.
There are now over 30 class-action lawsuits against Robinhood for this restriction, demanding it pay up in damages for depriving users the chance to purchase stock and letting users only hold or sell the affected stocks, therefore uniquely benefitting short-sellers/hedge funds.
